Foundation for Nature Conservation in Suriname

The Wanecreek Park was founded in 1986. This park is 450 kmĀ² and is located near the Wanecreek in the Marowijne district.

It is unique for its wet clay savannas (Wanecreek type) and white wet savannas (Watamaleo type). These types of nature come nowhere else in Suriname and contain many animal and plant species.
