What to bring along with you on a trip

No matter which trip you make, we recommend that you bring the following items:

  • Towel
  • Soap
  • Swimming clothes
  • Toilet paper     
  • Mosquito gel          
  • Drinking water
  • Dishwashing soap
  • Good walking shoes       
  • Garbage bags

Kitchen rules

Some kitchen rules to which all guests and tour operators must adhere:

  1. Always leave the kitchen clean during departure.
  2. Do not use damaged utensils.
  3. Cover food from pests and fly over and clean your waste directly on.
  4. Sort your food neatly in the kitchen. Do not open your food. Avoid that ants carry away your food.
  5. Do not leave dishes too long in the kitchen.
  6. Make use of dustbins with a lid. This prevents vermin from entering into the rubbish. Empty the barrels on time.
  7. Use several tons of dirt to separate your waste fat, vegetables and other food.
  8. After use, the burners must be cleaned.

Rules for tour operators

The operators are obliged to adhere to the following rules:

  1. The operator and his guests must abide by the rules of the area.
  2. In case of violation of rules, a penalty may be requested.
  3. The tour operator is responsible for safety of his guests.
  4. Stinasu is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
  5. In case of theft or loss, contact the site manager first, afterwards the police (if possible).

Brownsberg Park Rules

Park Rules for Brownsberg Naturepark

  1. Keep the park clean!! No waste and deposit along the trails.
  2. Before leaving for the falls or hiking ask for a garbage bag at the reception. This is mandatory.
  3. It is strictly prohibited to collect plants, animals and stones.
  4. It is strictly prohibited to have or bring pets (dogs, cats, etc.) into the park.
  5. It is strictly forbidden to hunt or to have hunting equipment.
  6. Prevent noise (radios / stereos).
  7. It is prohibited to carry alcoholic beverages to the waterfalls.
  8. It is mandatory that you register at the reception before visiting the waterfalls and hiking trails.
  9. The use of artificial light in the evenings for spotting animals is strictly prohibited.
  10. Cigarette butts must be deposited in the appropriate ashtrays.
  11. Conserve water!!! Water is very precious in the Brownsberg.
  12. Please note that when leaving the park a check-up can be done.
  13. It is strictly forbidden to cut wood material in the park or collect to set up tents.
  14. It is forbidden gathering wood.
  15. It is prohibited to make campfires.
  16. Barbeque can take place at the designated areas only.
  17. It is forbidden to walk the trails in the evenings. (Exception applies only to the researchers).
  18. Parking is at the designated areas by the site manager.
  19. Guests must show proof of your payment / receipt in case of audit.
  20. It is strictly forbidden to perform religious activities at Brownsberg.

Raleighvallen rules

Guidelines for visiting the Raleigh Falls / Voltzberg in the Central Suriname Nature Reserve

  1. It is strictly forbidden to hunt or have hunting equipment.
  2. It is strictly prohibited to collect plants, flowers, animals and stones
  3. Each visiting group of tourists should be led by a Stinasu recognized tour operator and / or guide.
  4. It is only allowed to sleep in the accommodation facilities assigned by the site manager.
  5. It is forbidden to bring pets to the area.
  6. It is strictly forbidden to cut wood material in the park or collect to set up tents.
  7. No waste may be left in and around the lodges, and along the trails, in the water or on the Voltzberg.
  8. Used toilet paper should be left along the path.
  9. Cigarette butts must be collected and disposed of in the bins.
  10. Avoid noise (using radios / stereos / noise).
  11. The use of artificial light in the evenings to watch the animals is strictly prohibited.
  12. Because of inconvenience for the animals it is forbidden to carve in tree roots or stumps.
  13. Camping and campfires are prohibited.
  14. There should be no signs or messages engraved in the trunks or Voltzberg.
  15. For your own safety, it is forbidden to dive from the falls.
  16. It is prohibited to swim when one is menstruating or when having bleeding wounds.
  17. After using the burners it should be cleaned.
  18. After using the toilets please leave it neatly behind.

Babunsanti rules

Guidelines when visiting sea turtles - nesting beaches in Galibi

  1. Each visiting group of tourists must be led by a Stinasu tour operator and / or guide.
  2. Photographing sea turtles with flash is prohibited.
  3. The use of flashlights should be kept to a minimum and should only be used by the guide.
  4. Sea turtles that come to the beach from the sea should not be deterred. Both movements sound and light should be limited.
  5. It is strictly forbidden to molest the animals or to sit on them.
  6. Animals that have not laid theirs eggs yet should not be disturbed.
  7. Laying turtles should be viewed from a distance of about 2 m.
  8. It is strictly forbidden to collect eggs from the nests or eggs or to have in possession.
  9. No waste may be left on the beaches.
  10. Camping and campfires are prohibited.
